Who we are

We are building energy systems that will last for centuries

GeoGen builds closed-loop geothermal systems that turn the steady warmth underground into everyday heat and, where required, electricity. Our sealed, pipe-in-pipe wells generate power downhole and move heat to surface by natural thermosiphon, so there are no lift pumps, corrosive brines, or noisy surface power skids. The result is firm, fuel-free energy with predictable costs that can be sited close to demand.

Heat for buildings, districts, and greenhouses
  • 1 MW thermal, supply up to ~60°C
  • Off-grid heat and power for remote operations
  • 2 MW thermal and ~250 kW electricity
  • Distributed clean power close to demand
  • 1 MW to 1 GW electricity

GeoGen Exclusive Technology

GeoGen Energy System (GES)

GES is a sealed loop in a single well. Working fluid flows down, spins a compact downhole turbine, picks up heat at depth, then rises by buoyancy to deliver continuous heat and electricity to surface. The design favors ordinary, drillable rock from 40 °C to 250 °C bottom-hole.

  • Sealed loop, no routine water handling
  • Making more Geology viable for geothermal
  • Modular: add wells to scale
  • Quiet, compact surface footprint

Deployable today in horizontal style wells, similar to those drilled by oil and gas

In time, it can be combined with other Advance Geothermal well designs with multiple laterals once those are proven

Outcome: dependable, fuel-free heat first, with behind-the-meter power when needed. This is the kind of power that never gets replaced.

Our Mission

Make geothermal mainstream. We are standardizing a closed-loop approach that is cost-stable, emissions-free, and geography-flexible, enabling real estate, industry, and communities to secure energy independence without compromise.

For decades, geothermal was seen primarily as a niche provider of building heat or a limited electricity source tied to volcanic regions. But recent advances in technology have opened a new frontier: baseload geothermal electricity and affordable secure renewable heat at scale.

We exist to demonstrate, document, and deliver this new reality. By providing a technology that is cost-stable, emissions-free, and geography-flexible, GeoGen enables industries, governments, and communities to secure clean energy without compromise.

Our Vision

Geothermal will be a cornerstone of global energy, from rural microgrids to dense urban heating networks. As our technology matures, it can scale rapidly by tapping the existing oil and gas supply chain and workforce, creating tens of thousands of high-quality jobs with only minor retraining. We aim to rebuild confidence in geothermal through transparent pilots, repeatable design, and results that stand alongside wind, solar, and storage.

Our vision is simple yet bold: energy independence, resilience, and climate-positive growth—delivered from beneath our feet, anywhere on Earth.

GeoGen is the technical authority in a new era of geothermal development, based in Canada but with a vision that extends worldwide. Closed-loop and thermosiphon unlock baseload heat and behind-the-meter power in moderate temperature gradients, far beyond volcanic regions. Our architecture is functional in any closed-loop well design and is deployable wherever standard drilling can reach.
If the end game is no emission, why not skip right to the end. GeoGen’s systems don’t just deliver clean energy, they do it with requiring any fuel. This isn’t the next best alternative in terms of emission offset, we are going all the way. We unlock measurable, verifiable emissions reductions by replacing diesel generators and fossil-fuel heating with continuous geothermal energy. Our projects generate carbon offsets that can support ESG strategies and compliance goals. While carbon credits are just one piece of the puzzle, they highlight a powerful fact: sustainable infrastructure can also be a financial asset.
It’s not about choosing geothermal over solar or wind, it’s about complementing them. Solar and wind shine when conditions are right, but geothermal provides the steady, 24/7 foundation that keeps energy systems reliable. Together, they form a balanced, resilient mix: intermittent renewables capturing peak opportunities, with geothermal ensuring stability and heat where and when it’s needed most. This is how the world will achieve true baseload renewable energy.
