GeoGen uses a sealed, closed-loop well, meaning the fluid stays inside the pipe and there's no water used or produced. At the surface the footprint is small and there are no emissions. By design, we eliminate components found in other geothermal systems to lower the costs and the complexity. Power is generated inside the well to increase the efficiency and harvest more heat. We don't need special hot rocks or to drill ultra deep wells, so GeoGen's geothermal can truly be deployed anywhere.
It works in common rock warmer than about 40°C. This opens up many more locations where geothermal becomes a viable investment in almost any scenario. It is as safe as an air conditioner and can be deployed close to where people live and work.
